Children of the Revolution
deep in the heart of downtown LA the embodiement of the Moulin Rouge exsists. it was a gathering of artists, models and musicians. the activities don't even get going till 11:00 pm but it's what you always thought a drawing jam should be. here's my study of just one of the figures posing last night. i felt like a "real" artist.

Sketch in Progress
here's a little something i started last week and finally got a chance today to do something with it. it's not finished yet but far enough along that i don't hate it. these kind of sketches are fun because there is no wrong answer and it's almost meditative figuring out what the shapes are going to be.
Obviously the foreground elements are completely unfinished at this point.

Back to Union Station
the roof was tricky the first time i painted here, so i wanted another crack at it. i also had my second battery today and that made a big difference as well. Nick Pugh was there with us today too. he's writing a book on digital plein air. http://www.nickpugh.com/
