Close Up - Al Whitlock





I have been a huge admirer of the artistry of Al Whitlock. He was a master matte painter and brilliantly understated artist. i recently had the absolute pleasure of viewing some of his original paintings and they were more impressive than i hoped. Solid drawing, controlled tone and amazingly real without being rendered or tight. My favorite style of painting.
